College Accredited Course for University of Montana Students only

Enrollment through UM Course Catalog.

Course overview:

Aerial yoga uses a looped fabric called a hammock, that swivels freely on a single point. With the aid of the hammock, it allows you to deepen your stretch, discover correct alignment, refine postures, and safely perform inversions. The hammock is a prop you can hold onto for balance and as a spotting device which safely guides you into postures with more control and awareness, making it possible to perform some postures that may seem too challenging. This new form of yoga is equally beneficial for beginners and advances students.

Course objectives:

1. Learn the fundamental yoga poses and correct alignment with use of the aerial hammock.

2. Learn techniques of movement meditation, build core strength, and perform inversions with the aerial hammock.
